Fraser Rise stabbing: Melbourne teen stabbed by gang of machete-wielding thugs in ‘targeted attack’ after school

A manhunt is underway for a group of about seven youths after a boy was stabbed outside a secondary school.

Emergency services were called to the City Vista District Court in Fraser Rise, in Melbourne’s northwest, at about 3.10pm on Thursday after reports that a teenager had been stabbed while waiting at a bus stop.

The 16-year-old was taken to Western Hospital with a wound to his arm.

The boy’s condition is unknown.

Police suspect that the boy was attacked at a bus stop by a group of seven men armed with machetes. It would be a targeted attack.

Disturbing images obtained by Nine news shows a group of men dressed in black, with hoods and face coverings, and armed with what appear to be machetes.

It is believed the group fled in a black Honda sedan after the stabbing.

Police cordoned off the street on Thursday afternoon while forensic personnel searched the crime scene for evidence.

The incident shocked residents in the street and police ordered them to stay indoors.

“I have a young family so it was quite a worry,” Steve told Nine News.

“It looked pretty bad. There were police everywhere and the whole neighborhood was cordoned off.”
