Friends concerned because Britney Spears is reviving the relationship with musician son Jayden (18).

Britney Spears’ rekindled relationship with her youngest son, Jayden, has raised questions about his ‘motivation’, years after the singer was left ‘devastated’ by his public criticism of her.

The pop superstar, 42, reportedly hadn’t seen her boys Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden, 18, in at least a year before moving to Hawaii with their father Kevin Federline, 46, last August.

Now, sources have confirmed that the aspiring music producer reached out to his mother to initiate their recent reunion, two years after breaking his silence on their fractured relationship.

But those close to Britney are “cautiously optimistic” and have questioned Jayden’s timing, just weeks before her child support payments to Kevin are set to officially end.

“Jayden just turned 18 two months ago, and not long after he contacted Britney and said he missed her and felt she had shown signs of improvement,” a source told DailyMail.com . “Everyone around her is cautiously optimistic.”

Jayden spoke about his estrangement from Spears in a 2022 interview with British broadcaster ITV, in which he criticized her online presence and claimed he had experienced “emotional trauma” before revealing he wanted to reunite.

“Yes, Jayden is her baby, but he is also the one who publicly spoke out against her in that interview that devastated her. Still, things are going great now and Britney couldn’t be happier.”

The pair are now said to have bonded over their love of music as Jayden aims to make a name for himself in music.

“Jayden is determined to break into the music industry, and Britney is willing to give him every advantage,” the source continued. “She believes he is incredibly talented, and she takes all the credit for his musical abilities.”

Sean turned 19 in September and just two days earlier, his younger brother Jayden celebrated his 18th birthday on September 12.

Kevin was granted custody of their boys by a California court as Britney struggled with a public breakdown and was later placed under restrictive conservatorship in 2008.

Court documents show that Kevin, who now lives on the island of Oahu in Hawaii with his third wife Victoria Prince, whom he married in 2013, has been paid $240,000 a year since 2007 to care for Jayden and Sean Preston until 2017 – and beyond , according to sources, that amount was increased to $480,000 per year by court order.

The artist has been paying child support to her ex, Kevin, for seventeen years, with payments amounting to approximately $5 million.

A source explained exclusively to DailyMail.com that Jayden had been the one to contact his mother and initiate their recently revealed reunion.

“Now that Britney’s child support checks to Kevin have stopped, she’s making sure Jayden doesn’t go without financial support,” the insider added.

The source made it clear that Britney wants to focus on reuniting with her children.

“Whatever the motivation, Britney knows there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for her boys, and she’s confident in that,” they said.

“Jayden now has the key to the music industry, with the money and connections to make his dreams come true.”

A second insider said Britney has been taking things “one step at a time” with her sons to try to repair their broken bond.

“She wants to get things back to normal and would like to see if Sean would like to come visit soon,” they said. “She’s taking it one step at a time though and just enjoying the simple things with Jayden, just hanging out, eating, talking, just getting some good mom time.

“The process is a day-by-day process because their bond has been broken for so long that she wants to restore what’s most important to her, and Jayden seems to be all for it.”

Reports published by Page Six claimed that Jayden has been “back in California,” where Britney lives after moving to Hawaii last year.

It remains unclear whether Jayden stayed at his famous mother’s $7.4 million estate in Thousand Oaks.

However, the publication noted that Britney’s eldest son, Sean Preston, still lives in Hawaii.

In June, a source told DailyMail.com that Britney’s brother Bryan Spears had helped the singer reconnect with her children.

“Britney has been talking and working on her relationship with Sean Preston and Jayden for months,” the insider said.

‘The boys have so much love for their mother, as she does for them. Things are back on track and they are looking forward to the future together.’

They explained that Bryan was “instrumental in facilitating their reunion” and that Britney wanted to keep this quiet because she did not want “their chances for reconciliation to be jeopardized.”

During his ITV interview, Jayden opened up about his mother and accused her of posting shocking content on Instagram for ‘attention’.

“It’s almost like she has to post something on Instagram to get attention,” he said. ‘This has been going on for years and years and years. There’s a good chance this will never really stop.’

Elsewhere, a second insider explained that Britney has been taking things “one step at a time” with her sons to try to mend their fractured bond.

He also admitted that he believed that both his and Sean’s relationships with their mother could be repaired.

“I 100 percent think this can be resolved,” he said. “It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort,” he explained at the time. “I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better, I really want to see her again.’

He then shared a message to his mother saying: ‘I love you very much, I hope the best for you. Maybe one day we can sit down and talk again.’

In September, Britney shocked many fans when she wrote a sweet birthday tribute to her sons in an Instagram post uploaded in honor of them both turning a year older.

One image showed Britney with her two boys when they were younger.

Another photo was taken as the singer stepped out holding one of her sons.

She wrote: ‘It’s my boys birthday this month!!! Congratulations darlings and I hope you get all your wishes and more!!!’

Late last year, Britney released her best-selling memoir, The Woman In Me – which is now being made into a film, with Universal recently acquiring the rights.

DailyMail.com revealed last month that Britney is working on new music for the film and reworking old songs.
