When it comes to style, we are all inspired by what we see; be it a well-dressed celebrity, a breathtaking runway presentation or even a fashionable passerby.

As fashion editors, we are moved by all of the above, and then some. We are exposed to under-the-radar labels; we get a first look at collections months before they hit the shelves; we attend VIP events; we use brands with a chic yet cheap offer and we shop – a lot.

To share our knowledge, FEMAIL brings you Style Swoon, a weekly series of the latest, greatest and on the edge. We hope this Friday series will serve as a buying guide and source of inspiration for everyone.

This week’s edition is all about chic parties, starting with the birthday of living legend Patricia Field.
