Frostpunk 2 and more games coming soon to Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a CNET Editors’ Choice Award pick, offers hundreds of games to play across your Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, and PC or mobile device for $20 per monthWith a subscription, you get access to a large library of games, with new titles added every month, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. You also get other benefits, such as online multiplayer and offers on titles not included in Game Pass.

Microsoft recently gave subscribers access to Age of Mythology: Retold and other games, and the company adds these games going to the service soon.

Available: September 19

Master the land, sea, and air in this turn-based tactics game. It’s been three years since the Queen of Aurania died, and now a foreign faction discovers forbidden technology on the shores. It’s up to you and a cast of new characters — including a dog in armor who just now the best boy — to prevent these factions from causing chaos in the country.

Frostpunk 2 (PC)

Available: September 20

This city-building survival game asks you to make the tough decisions necessary to ensure your community survives an arctic apocalypse. Set 30 years after the events of the award-winning Frostpunk, you play as the Steward, who takes control of the city after the original game’s character, the Captain, dies. The city is struggling with overcrowding, food and coal shortages, and other problems. It’s up to you to build enough shelter and provide enough food for everyone while dealing with the factions vying for power. This game is only available to PC subscribers, including PC and Ultimate Game Pass subscribers.

Ara: History Untold (PC)

Available: September 24

Get ready to build and lead a nation in this turn-based grand strategy game. Explore unique regions and biomes, develop your own culture and art, and wage diplomacy with other nations. When diplomacy fails, wage strategic warfare. You can also download this game now so you can play it on day 1. And this game is only available to subscribers on PC, which means you’ll need a PC Game Pass or Ultimate subscription to play.

Games leaving Game Pass soon

While Microsoft is adding these three games to Game Pass, it’s also removing nine others on September 30. That means you still have some time to finish your campaign or any side missions before having to purchase these games separately.
