- Expect a complete launch on the Fujifilm X -Top on June 12, 2025
A teaser video of 15 seconds, released today prior to that of next week Fujifilm X Summit event, appears to everything except that the Fujifilm X-E5 is indeed announced.
The short film shows a compact camera and lens in Silhouette, with the most details dark and darkened, while a voice-over says: “There is still a series in a distance meter style that is just as essential when telling the story of our X-series History”.
In view of the aforementioned statue, that of X100 and X-Pro series cameras in the teaser, the remaining series of the Fujifilm Rangefinder style to which it refers, is undoubtedly the XE Long Rumed X-E5.
The XE series cameras have APS-C sensors and a compact body in ranging noise, just like the popular X100VI – But also support interchangeable lenses.

What could the X-E5 have in store for us?
The X-E5 would be the first new XE series release since the X-E4It was launched in 2021. It had a 26.1 MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor, no stabilization in the body (ibis), no viewfinder, no weather weeding and only a single SD card slot.
The X-E4 has also stripped physical controls such as dials and buttons to the absolute minimum. That is not necessarily a bad thing in a camera, but some found Fujifilm a bit too minimalist for his own good will here to do the point where it actually influenced the user-friendliness of the camera.
If I would prepare a personal wish list with improvements that I want for the X-E5 (taking into account the fact that it always has to make compromises here and there to keep the price affordable), I would like to see the recording of IBIs and weather-like, what a general boost would give an overall boost, while the camera makes a little more difficult and more travel-friendly. Throw in a viewfinder and it is perhaps the perfect affordable street photography camera.
Previous rumors about the X-E5 suggest that at least one of my wishes comes true. Fuji rumors has reported that the camera IBIs and a 40MP X-Trans V-sensor will have, making it more in line with Fujifilm’s Superstar with fixed lenses, the X100VI.
Of course the X-E5 will also be an interchangeable lens camera, so it offers greater versatility than the X100VI. In fact, it probably seems to be launching next to a new X-Mount Prime lens, the XF23mm f/2.8. It is said that this is a low-profile pancake lens, portable and discreet and mounted on a body such as the X-E5, the two must make a very compact combination.
There is not long waiting to find out what Fujifilm has its sleeves for the XE series. The 12 June X top cannot roll around quickly enough. Let us know what kind of camera you want to see next week revealed in the comments below.
