The TikToker who owns a magazine company plans to use the drawer for product photos
Marci Hirshleifer Penn gets it.
As the owner of a luxury department store in Manhattan, she stays on top of the latest marketing trends, sharing a collection of different vacation looks on Instagram with the caption, “Traveling with Chanel F24.”
The “aesthetic” photos show a TSA-style bin containing various Chanel outfits, including a combination of Chanel shoes, bag and top, artfully arranged in the iconic gray drawer.
But the trend isn’t just visible on Instagram, as TikTokker Margot Lee also revealed her strange purchase.
She explained the trend to her followers in a video captioned, “Stay tuned to see how this made it to our HOME PAGE.”
“The weirdest thing I’ve ever ordered just came in the mail,” she said in the video posted last week.
The TikTokker, who owns a magazine company, wants to use the tray for product photos.
“The idea is to create different vignettes that focus on the travel diary and to create the different identities of people,” she explains.
“It was surprisingly difficult to find this,” she added.
Her followers seem to be embracing the strange trend, with one enthusiastically shouting, “Marketing genius!”
“You are so creative, this is a really fun idea,” another user wrote in the comments.
“I’m obsessed,” raved a third. “This is a vision.”
Piper Taich, another social media influencer, even shared a step-by-step tutorial for creating the perfect TSA trash can aesthetic.
“TSA trash can aesthetic photo tutorial!” she captioned the video.

“That’s how I created these fun photos for Pinterest — and no, I didn’t do it by holding up the TSA line,” she joked.
The bin is from Amazon and she uses it for cleaning supplies when she’s not taking photos, Piper said.
“If you’re wondering what the point of it is, it’s fun and it’s for art,” Piper explained. “It’s a really fun way to express my love for fashion, thrift stores, and artistic direction.”
