What would make a show that is combined as a reality TV Squid game of The Hunger Games to bloodthirsty effect? That is the starting point of The running manIt is based on the novel by Stephen King and focuses on the most popular and deadly TV program in America.
If that sounds like a certain Korean drama, The running maN came there for decades earlier the book was published in 1982 and the first film version, with a Spandex-clad Arnold Schwarzenegger, came to be much more violent five years later. And as you will see from the trailer below, it also looks a lot more grim.
“Everyone is walking”: what is the running man about?

The current man is the name of the most watched TV program in America, and in that show the participants runners must stay alive-thirty-like days while the cameras follow their every movement. Oh, and they have a lot of professional murderers on their tail, and they don’t pretend they are murderers. Think of American gladiators who arise with attack rifles and hand grenades.
Glen Powell plays Blauweborden Held Ben Richards, who has to win the prize money to save his sick daughter. And as Paramount Pictures explains, producer Dan Killian (Josh Brolin) regrets him to participate: “Ben’s challenge, instincts and grit turn him into an unexpected favorite of the fans – and a threat to the whole system. While rating rises, but not just a nation, but a nation, but but a nation, but” but a nation, but “, but” but one nation, but “but a nation,” but one of them, “but a nation, but”, but “, but”, but one of them, “but a nation, but” but a nation, but “but a nation,” but one of them, “
No matter how nice the Arnie version was, it dropped a lot of the more serious parts of the book to concentrate on making a typical action film from the 1980s. But the novel was pretty gloomy and some would say, looking forward to an authoritarian vs where the economy has collapsed, an elite pair of all rich censes -drugs -drugs -drugs -drugs -drugs -drugs -drugs, and drugs, drugs -drugs -drugs -drugs -drugs -drugs, and the government -drugs, and the government -drugs and the government -drugs, and the government’s censes -drugs, and the government’s censes -drugs, and the government’s census, and the government’s census, and the government. To keep the population still.
This is really dark things, and it will be interesting to see how much of it can be seen in the actual film. I have high expectations: Edgar Wright said that he liked the original film, but wished that the book had received a better adjustment. And this version has a much wider scope than the original: where that takes place in a single city, the 2025 version is a cross-country flight.
The running man Will be released in theaters on November 7, 2025.
