‘Good Job, Joe!’: Trump Lashes Out at Biden Over VP Gaffe Before President Responds With Brutal Counterattack

Donald Trump and Joe Biden exchanged fierce criticism on social media after the current president made an embarrassing gaffe in which he mixed up the names of his predecessor and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Biden was asked at the start of a question-and-answer session with the press to end the NATO conference whether Harris could beat Donald Trump if she were at the top. She gave a painful answer.

“Look, I wouldn’t have chosen Vice President Trump as vice president if I didn’t think she was fit to be vice president,” he said, sparking a flurry of Republican memes, with mashups of Harris and Trump quickly appearing online.

Trump took to his Truth Social page and immediately slammed the blunder: “Crooked Joe begins his ‘Big Boy’ press conference with: ‘I would not have chosen Vice President Trump for vice president, even though I don’t think she was qualified to be president.’ Well done, Joe!”

However, Biden’s account on X had a response for Trump that tried to hit just as hard.

“By the way, yes, I know the difference,” he wrote. “One is a prosecutor, the other is a criminal.”

Ironically, Trump’s 34-count conviction case was scheduled to be heard today, but was delayed after he apparently won immunity from a Supreme Court ruling.

It was a tough day for the president, who had also confused the presidents of Ukraine and Russia just hours earlier.

“Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,” he said, before realizing he was actually supposed to introduce President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is currently at war with Putin.

A gasp went through the room. Some people shouted the right name as the leader of the free world tried to rally. “No, we’re going to beat Putin,” he said, as if to suggest that he simply had Putin on his mind rather than undergoing a senior moment.

Biden made it clear later in the press conference that despite the continued gaffes, speculation and ridicule about his health, he had no intention of withdrawing from the race.

But it leaves Democrats with a dilemma. Top donors, supporters and key lawmakers have raised alarms about whether the veteran can take on Trump in November.

In the final question of the night, NBC News’ Peter Alexander pointed out that he had previously confused Harris, his own vice president, with Trump.

“Right now, Donald Trump is using that to mock your age and your memory,” he said. “How do you combat that criticism?”

“Listen to that other guy…” he said with a smile.

Biden wrote in a letter to congressional Democrats on Tuesday: “I want you to know that despite all the speculation in the press and elsewhere, I am determined to stay in this race, to see this race through to the end, and to defeat Donald Trump.”

Two weeks after Biden’s abysmal performance in the debate against former President Trump, questions remain on Capitol Hill about whether his leadership will help or hurt Democrats on lower-tier ballots.

On Thursday, Peter Welch of Vermont became the first senator to ask Biden to withdraw, joining more than a dozen members of the House of Representatives.

One of them, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez from Alaska, was the first to suggest president Joe Biden would have to resign in a stunning statement.

According to reports, Democrats in Congress may turn against the president after his speech Thursday night, as they seek to undermine the country’s leader as he manages the delicate foreign relations.
