Google just announced an update that gives you Pixel Watch 3 features on previous models
Back in August, Google debuted its latest Pixel Watch 3 alongside the Pixel 9 series of phones. On Tuesday, Google dropped even more big news, and it’s sure to make Pixel Watch owners very happy. Both the original Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 are set to get a Wear OS 5 upgrade, meaning older-generation watches can now get some of the Pixel Watch 3’s features. And if you don’t have a Pixel Watch yet, there are a number of deals going around, including some shockingly low sale prices. We’ll break down those deals and what exactly the update entails below.
Starting at 4pm ET on Tuesday, both the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 devices began receiving the latest Wear OS 5 update. With this update, Pixel Watch users will receive a variety of new features, numerous bug fixes, and some performance improvements. App updates via the Play Store will also be available for Pixel Watch 1 and Pixel Watch 2 devices. These include the ability to get the grid view app launcher and Pixel Recorder, along with improved camera controls. Keep in mind that these updates will roll out throughout the week and are dependent on your carrier and device. That means the Pixel Watch 2 is now has a price of $250which is $100 less than the original price, but also $100 less than the latest Pixel Watch 3. Additionally, several readers are reporting that you can currently get the Pixel Watch 2 on sale at Target for just $75. This offer appears to be valid in select stores only, as reported by Redditor u/verydemurevery who posted a photo of their local Target store with the Pixel Watch 2 on sale for $75. While there are no guarantees your store will have it, as availability varies by location, it might be worth driving by to check it out for these kinds of savings.
