Google makes it easier to shop online with Chrome for iOS

Google Chrome for iOS has received several new features that aim to make finding information and completing tasks easier. The web browser now allows iPhone users to add text queries to visual searches through Google Lens for more useful and relevant results. It also introduces new ways to save space on iPhone, find better deals while shopping online, and quickly view maps of addresses. These changes come with the Google Chrome for iOS November 2024 update.

New features in Google Chrome for iOS

In a blog afterGoogle announced that Chrome for iOS users can now add text queries to visual searches in Google Lens at the same time. This is said to help with more complex searches with the ability to add a color or visual attribute in addition to the image search as a text query.

Chrome for iOS also brings a new feature that can help users get rid of the “Storage Low” notification. After the latest update, photos and other content from the web can be saved directly from the web to the Google Drive and Photos apps on iPhone. When saving the file, users simply need to tap on the Drive option that appears and the contents will be saved to the new file Saved from Chrome folder in Files. To save images, they can press and hold an image and select it Save to Google Photos option from the context menu.

In the US, Google’s latest update to Chrome introduces a shopping insights feature that can help you find good deals while shopping online. While searching for a product, users get a Good deal now notification from the browser that provides information such as price history, price tracking, and more purchasing options. This feature works when the Make searches and browsing better setting is enabled in Chrome. It will initially only be available in the US, but will be rolled out to more regions in the coming months, Google confirms.

Another new addition to Chrome for iOS is the ability to view maps with addresses in one tap without switching between the browser and Google Maps. Once rolled out, users will be able to see a mini-map of the location in Chrome with a single tap on the underlined address. The feature is currently in the experimental phase and will be rolled out globally soon.
