Google Photos May Introduce One-Tap Editing Via Video Presets
Google Photos for Android could soon be updated with a new feature that will allow users to quickly edit their videos. The feature is currently not available to users and was found hidden within the app. These video presets will reportedly include four new tools that will allow users to perform specific edits on the entire video, or a specific portion. These presets are currently in development and could be made available to users in the future, according to a report. Interestingly, an earlier report had claimed that Google Photos could add a feature to block a person’s face in the app.
Google Photos may soon get a video preset feature
Android Authority spotted a new feature on Google Photos version 6.97 that is currently hidden, meaning that users cannot access it even if that version of the app is installed on their smartphone. The feature is said to be in the Editing option. The new Preset The banner would contain four options: Basic Cut, Slow Mo, Zoom and Track.
Each of these options is said to add a predefined edit to the video. Users reportedly have the option to apply the preset to the entire video or a portion of the video by selecting the duration and slides. Additionally, more than one preset can also be added to the same slide. However, it is said that video files cannot be exported if more than two edits are placed.
The Basic Cut preset would crop the key moment and enhance the colors. Slow Mo would add a slow-motion effect to selected frames of the video. Zoom, as the name suggests, zooms in and out of the selected area and can be useful for highlighting a distant object. Finally, Track would automatically track and zoom in on the main subject of the video.
However, it should be noted that this feature has been found in the app’s code and may or may not be rolled out by Google. More details about the feature cannot be ascertained until it is officially sent to users.
