Google Pixel 9 Pro models to offer LTPO display in India

The Google Pixel 9 series was launched earlier this week during the company’s annual Made by Google event. The standard Pixel 9 comes with an Actua OLED display, while the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL models come with LTPO Super Actua displays. However, a recent listing of the phones on the Pixel support page suggested that the display quality and connectivity features for Pixel 9 models vary across markets, with the Indian variants of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL listed with non-LTPO displays.

As spotted on the Pixel support page According to GSMArena, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL for India, Malaysia, and Singapore have been listed with different displays compared to the other variants for the rest of the world. The Pixel 9 Pro phones for these regions have reportedly been listed with an Actua Display instead of a Super Actual Display (LTPO).

However, at the time of writing, Google has changed the display type of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL for the India, Malaysia, and Singapore markets to Super Actua display.

There were also differences in the Wi-Fi capabilities of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL across regions. According to screenshots of the listing shared by the publication, the Pixel 9 Pro units sold in India will not support Wi-Fi 7. However, that’s because regulators in India don’t allow it. The phone likely has the hardware and full Wi-Fi 7 support should arrive via a software update once regulators in India give the green light.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL features a larger 6.8-inch (1344 x 2992 pixels) Super Actua (LTPO) OLED display with a pixel density of 486 ppi, a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. The Pixel 9 features a 6.3-inch (1080 x 2424 pixels) Actua OLED display with a pixel density of 422 ppi, a maximum brightness of 2,700 nits, and a refresh rate of 60 Hz to 120 Hz.
