Google’s Circle to Search Could Soon Support Pixel Screenshots App
Google launched the Pixel 9 series, Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 last week at its annual Made by Google event. Apart from the hardware launches, the tech giant also introduced three new apps for the Pixel smartphone. The Pixel Screenshots app emerged as a major highlight owing to its artificial intelligence (AI) feature for fetching information from screenshots saved on the device. A new report now claims that Google is working on integrating the Pixel Screenshots app with its Circle-to-Search feature.
Google Could Integrate Pixel Screenshots App Into Circle-to-Search
According to a report by Android Authority, the feature was discovered in the Google app beta version 15.32.37.29.arm64. The publication discovered the development while performing an APK (Android Application Package) teardown. In the new version of Circle-to-Search, a To rescue This option reportedly appears after you select an element on the screen.
Tapping the option should reportedly open a pop-up window that says “Remember what you find. Save to screenshots.” The floating window should also explain that tapping Continuethe highlighted selection is saved in screenshots.
If a user decides to go ahead with saving the screenshot, a Pixel Screenshots app interface will open, according to the screenshots shared by the publication. This screen will show the date and time the screenshot was taken and will show an option to start AI processing. Allowing this will allow the Screenshots app to save it to its database and the next time the user wants to search for the information in the image, they can do so directly by typing a text prompt in the app.
According to the report, users will also see a warning box if screenshotting is enabled for AI summaries, smart actions, and searches. While users can normally take screenshots and save them within the app, integrating the feature into Circle-to-Search will likely save them a few extra clicks.
However, keep in mind that the rumored feature has not been officially announced by the company yet. Its presence in the beta app does not guarantee that it will be released as an official feature by the company. We can only say for sure if and when Google will formally roll it out to the public.
