Govt celebrates 100 days with 11L lakhpati didis, 15L crore projects | India News – Times of India


NEW DELHI: The Narendra Modi government completed the 100th day of its third term on Tuesday, the prime minister’s birthday.
A notable achievement during this period is the emergence of 11 lakh more ‘Lakhpati Didis’. Importantly, more than a crore lakhpati didisthose earning more than Rs 100,000 per year have been enrolled so far.
“For those who question the government on employment, the emergence of so many lakhpati didis is an answer,” said a senior government official.
Government sources on Sunday released details of Modi 3.0’s performance in the first 100 days, revealing that projects worth Rs 15 lakh crore have been approved during the period. They said that for the first time, when projects were launched, their inauguration dates were also announced simultaneously.
Sources also suggested that the infrastructure projectslaunched in these 100 days were planned well in advance as officials were tasked to draw up a 100-day roadmap before the third term of the NDA government begins.
“Creating jobs through these projects is one of the major achievements,” a government source said, adding: “We need to understand that employment does not only mean government jobs as there are several long-term projects planned with a focus on job creation.”
BJP-led NDA The government has approved infrastructure projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore, including connecting 25,000 unconnected villages with road networks and building a mega port at Wadhawan in Maharashtra, during its first 100 days in office.
In addition to infrastructure, the government has also taken measures to stimulate agriculture by minimum support price (MSP) for Kharif crops, abolition of minimum export price (MEP) for onion and basmati rice and increase in import duties on crude palm, soya and sunflower oil.
The government wants to hire 75,000 new workers medical chairs is a new milestone achieved in the first 100 days. The program makes the health care system more effective and reduces the dependency on foreign medical training.
Disaster management is another highlight of Modi 3.0. Besides the introduction of the Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024, a whopping Rs 12,554 crore has been approved for states for urban flood management, fire services, dealing with glacial lake outbursts, flood control and other disaster mitigation efforts.
