Greedfall 2: The Dying World will enter Early Access this September, with a new gameplay trailer coming soon
The upcoming role-playing game (RPG) Greedfall 2: The Dying World will be released in early access on PC on September 24th of this year.
The game, which was first announced in March, was originally scheduled for a summer release. In addition to the reveal of a brand new release date announcement trailer, publisher Nacon and developer Spiders Studio have confirmed that a new gameplay video will be released next month.
In November, just before the early access release, a community livestream will take place, revealing an updated roadmap as well as new information about the game.
I went hands-on with an early build of the game last month and was quite impressed with everything I’d seen so far. It’s set on the fictional island of Teer Fradee, Greed Trap 2 Set three years before the start of the first game, it offers a new perspective on the colonial fantasy world, as you play as one of the oppressed natives of the island rather than a representative of one of the major powers.
I enjoyed the beautiful visuals, especially the lush nature, but I did find it a shame that the real-time strategy battles could sometimes become too chaotic.
The early access period gives you the opportunity to experience the first chapter of the main quest for yourself, visiting the regions of Teer Fradee, Thynia and Uxantis. You can also meet some of the companions that will accompany you for the rest of the game.
While the early access release will be available exclusively on PC via Steam, the final version of Greedfall 2: The Dying World also coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5.
