‘Greedy’ shoppers furious after man brags about emptying Aldi shelves for £700 profit
A man has been criticised for clearing shelves at Aldi and bragging about making £700 in profit from reselling the products.
Only known as @aftermarketarbitrage Online, the man shared details about how he makes money through retail arbitrage.
Retail arbitrage simply means reselling a product for a profit.
In the UK it is perfectly legal, once you own an item you have the right to resell it.
In a TikTok video, the shopkeeper revealed he had gone to his local Aldi and found some blankets on sale for £25.
He then went into four more Aldi’s and loaded his shopping cart with blankets.

“I bought them all,” he said.
Using the BuyBotGo app, he scanned the blankets. The app told him how much they cost on Amazon and how many times they had been sold in the past month.
He discovered that the blankets were selling for a whopping £72, meaning that after deducting Amazon’s selling costs, he would make a profit of £32 on each blanket.
He calculated that he would make £700 from reselling the items, for just two hours’ work.
The reseller makes a profit on the items by reselling them through Amazon FBA.
Amazon FBA is a service that online sellers can use, where Amazon takes care of the storage, packaging, and shipping of your products.
So all he has to do is ship the products to Amazon and wait for the money to roll in.
The video has likely touched many people, as it has gone viral and has already been viewed more than 6.9 million times on the video platform.
TikTok users rushed to the comments of the video to share their thoughts, with many accusing the man of being selfish.
Someone said: “Imagine you’re struggling to stay warm, so you go to Aldi to buy a blanket, but someone has bought up the entire stock.”

A third person said, “Greedy! People are poor.”
A fourth added: “It’s a shame those who really needed it couldn’t get it as you all bought them.”
A fifth replied: “That’s why I can never find anything at Aldi.”
