Greenvale Melbourne fire: Car drives into garage before massive blaze erupts, house on fire

A driver is on the run after crashing into a house in Melbourne’s north.

A father and his five-year-old daughter were fast asleep in their Greenvale home when their car drove into their garage at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle caught fire and the flames quickly spread to the house. Before the fire department arrived, there was already extensive damage.

The father and daughter were only slightly injured.

Police have just established a crime scene and are investigating the incident as a possible targeted attack.

It took the fire brigade, with the help of local residents, about 40 minutes to extinguish the flames, which were limited to the house.

More to come.
