Gruesome new details are emerging about how a woman allegedly dismembered her husband’s body at their home in Greenacre, Sydney, and threw it in the trash
A woman accused of murdering her husband is said to have used an electric saw and knives to ‘butcher and dismember’ his body before disposing of his remains in rubbish bins.
NSW Police allege Nirmeen Noufl, 53, dismembered the body of 62-year-old Mamdouh Noufl before disposing of his remains in plastic bags at several residential and industrial sites in Sydney’s south-west.
An investigation into her husband’s disappearance began in July 2023 when police were called to a house in Juno Parade, in Greenacre, in Sydney’s west.
The 62-year-old small business owner had not been seen since May 2023, when police declared his disappearance suspicious at the time.
Police will now allege that Noufl and his wife had an argument on May 3 before she killed him.
The mother-of-eight was arrested at a Bankstown hospital on Thursday afternoon and charged with DV’s murder. Police say they believe there was also a financial motive.
She was denied bail and remanded in custody on Friday after appearing in court.
New details indicate that the timing of Noufl’s arrest was crucial as she was considered a flight risk and apparently had an interest in moving to the Middle East.
Concerned friends feared the worst as the investigation into Mr Noufl’s disappearance dragged on
Police believe the couple’s Greenacre home (pictured) has undergone a ‘significant clean-up’ after Noufl allegedly dismembered her husband
It is alleged that she had previously traveled to Egypt to sell properties and was in the process of buying shares in the United Arab Emirates.
Chief Inspector Danny Doherty told a press conference on Saturday that the Greenacre house had undergone a ‘significant clean’ and parts had been re-floored.
He described the murder as ‘brutal’, ‘macabre’ and ‘bizarre’.
“The remains have not yet been located and police doubt they will ever be located due to the nature of their disposal,” Supt Doherty said.

An investigation into Mamdouh Noufl’s disappearance began in July 2023 when police were called to a house in Juno Parade, in Greenacre, in Sydney’s west.

Supt Doherty said police would allege Noufl had provided detectives with “several versions” of her husband’s whereabouts.
She reportedly told her children, friends and family that Noufl had flown to Egypt to visit family, but relatives could not locate or reach him.
Police will allege Noufl took over her husband’s phone and social media accounts “to conceal the fact that he had been murdered.”
The victim’s bank accounts were also used until July 2023, when family friends of the couple reported the 62-year-old missing, Supt Doherty said.
A friend told me 9News Mr. Noufl was a quiet man.
“He was a very, very calm person,” he said, “(he was) smiley, very focused on his work.”
Noufl’s friends raised the alarm three months after he was allegedly murdered, with his friend revealing his disappearance concerned him at the time.
“I was obviously very concerned,” he said
“I thought inside that something bad must happen to him.”
The couple moved from Egypt to Sydney more than 30 years ago and have lived in the house in Greenacre for the past five to 10 years.
Supt Doherty said the victim had had close ties to his community in Sydney’s west and had owned a small business until his death (pictured, forensics examining part of the floor)

Supt Doherty said the couple’s eight adult children, aged between 20 and 30, were still “processing the information” and were believed to be in distress.
The cause and manner of the victim’s death are still unknown, but police will allege that Noufl ‘intentionally’ killed her husband.
Supt Doherty said the victim had had close ties to his community in Sydney’s west and had owned a small business until his death.
Noufl is due to return to Burwood Local Court on December 11.
The investigation led by Strike Force Tannerie continues.
