These worries are no longer hypothetical, they become reality for some IT employees, after Crowdstrike has recently announced that it cuts 500 jobs, which corresponds to around 5% of its workforce.

Crowdstrike is not the only technology company that cuts jobs because of AI.
The Wall Street Journal IBM reports, “used artificial intelligence, and specifically AI agents, to replace the work of a few hundred human resources employees.”
However, as a result of these cutbacks, it was able to hire more programmers and sales and marketing people.
“Although we have done an enormous amount of work within IBM to use AI and automation at certain work flows for companies, our total employment has actually risen, because what it does is that it gives you more investments to place in other areas,” Arvind Krishna of IBM said the publication.
So although AI may take on the jobs of some people, this results in an increase in opportunities in other areas.
Krishna also urged the Trump government to increase federal AI R&D financing instead of lowering Techcrunch:
“We have been an extremely strong advocate – and this is both the company and I personally – about the government funded by the government. That is the position that is unambiguous, and we strongly believe in that.”
