This holiday season, you can enjoy Hallmark movies through a (sort of) new streaming service.
Hallmark said Thursday it is rebranding Hallmark Movies Now as a revamped streamer called Hallmark Plus. The new offering will cost $8 per month or $80 per year and is scheduled to launch in mid-September. For comparison, Hallmark Movies Now currently costs $6 per month or $60 per year.
In addition to ad-free viewing, the revamped streaming service will offer new types of content and new membership benefits, according to a press release from Hallmark. Non-streaming benefits include “monthly $5 Hallmark Gold Crown Store coupons, free unlimited eCards, shopping rewards and surprise gifts.”
On the content side, Hallmark Plus will deliver Hallmark’s first-ever limited holiday series; the TV shows Holidazed and Mistletoe Murders; and a reality competition series called Finding Mr. Christmas. The service will also premiere the unscripted series Celebrations With Lacey Chabert; Ready, Set, Glow!; Small Town Setup; and Home Is Where the Heart Is. The latter three will feature Wes Brown, Ashley Williams and Luke Macfarlane.
A scripted series adaptation of KJ Dell’Antonia’s book The Chicken Sisters is also coming to Hallmark Plus. For more on the many streaming service options out there, check out our coverage of the best on-demand and live TV platforms.
