Haryana Assembly Election Results 2024: List of Winners by Constituency
NEW DELHI: The day has arrived! After months of intense campaigning, the 2024 Assembly election results for Haryana’s 90 constituencies will be announced. The ruling BJP is confident of securing a third consecutive term, while the Congress, buoyed by exit polls and after a decade out of power, is hoping for a comeback.
Before the counting of votes started at 8am, a three-layer security system was put in place at the counting centres. First, the postal ballots were counted, followed by the votes through the electronic voting machine (EVM).
The Haryana Assembly Elections were conducted in one phase on October 5, after being postponed from the original date of October 1 by the Election Commission. The turnout for the 2024 15th Assembly elections was 67.90%. Sirsa district recorded the highest voter turnout at 75.36%, while Faridabad recorded the lowest at 56.49%.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress (INC), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) with the Azad Samaj Party are the main parties in the state.
In this year’s Haryana Assembly election, there were a total of 1,031 candidates, with a decline in the number of women participants; only 101 women took part in the race.
