Has the Covid Shot Made a Famous Doctor’s Cancer WORSE?

A top doctor has spoken out about concerns that his cancer was worsening after a third dose of Pfizer’s Covid vaccine.

dr. Michael Goldman, 67, was diagnosed with lymphoma – a cancer of the immune system – last summer.

The immunologist, who has been an advocate of medical research for decades, received his third Pfizer shot weeks later.

After his cancer symptoms worsened days after his booster, he went for a scan.

The results showed that his cancer had exploded “like fireworks” on the right side of his body — the same side he was pricked on.

Dr Goldman, of the Erasmus Hospital in Brussels, concluded that the worsening of his condition may be due to the jab after searching through hundreds of scientific papers.

However, he is now cancer-free and still encourages others to get the vaccine, warning that even if the vaccine could potentially boost the spread of his cancer, it’s a “very rare” side effect.

Both Pfizer and Moderna, which make the Covid mRNA vaccines, are studying all reported side effects of the injection and have found no association between their injection and cancer.

And some patients have even reported how their cancer shrank after getting a shot.

HOW DO COVID MRNA VACCINES WORK?

Both Pfizer and Moderna’s Covid vaccines use mRNA technology.

They each contain the genetic code (mRNA) of the spike protein found on the surface of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Once in the body, the spike protein is produced.

This teaches the immune system to recognize the virus and mount an immune response.

As a result, when the body comes into contact with the virus, it recognizes the spike protein and destroys it before it can cause an infection.

Because no whole or live virus is involved, the vaccines cannot cause Covid.

And the mRNA breaks down naturally after a few days.

Dr Goldman had a full-body CT scan last summer after experiencing night sweats and swollen lymph nodes.

Results show cancerous growths near his left armpit and along his neck, which was diagnosed as lymphoma – cancer of the immune system.

Concern that he would soon be immunocompromised, Dr. Goldman is moving forward for his third Covid shot on September 22, 2021.

But just days after he was vaccinated, his lymph nodes became more swollen, his night sweats worsened, and he had to take afternoon naps due to a lack of energy.

He underwent another full body scan on September 30, six days before he was due to begin cancer treatment.

The results showed he had dozens of new cancer lesions, including on the right side of his neck, while previously they were mostly confined to the left side.

Doctors immediately prescribed steroid pills, warning that the rapid spread was unusual.

And he went through six rounds of chemotherapy and is now cancer free.

But in an interview with the American magazine Atlantic Oceanshared dr. Goldman is concerned that the rapid spread of his cancer may have been caused by his booster, after spending weeks sifting through scientific papers.

He thinks the same way the shots protect against the coronavirus — by increasing levels of antibodies and T cells that fight the virus — may be to blame.

dr. Goldman said some studies suggest that, in extremely rare cases, Covid shots can stimulate T cells to the point that they expand to form or worsen tumors.

Research also suggests that cancer patients’ lymph node cells go into overdrive after getting vaccines.

Other researchers have also reported the possible rare side effect.

dr. Aaron Mangold, the chief of clinical dermatology at the top US hospital group the Mayo Clinic, published a paper last spring about a patient whose rare skin lymphoma came back after their first Pfizer shot.

However, that patient’s second dose had no effect on their cancer, and the incident may have been a coincidence, Dr. Mangold on.

dr. William Murphy, an immunologist at UC Davis, told the Atlantic that Dr. Goldman’s cancer appears to be related to the vaccine “given the huge difference in tumor progression scans over a very short period of time.”

Doctors note, however, that it’s impossible to be sure about the link because it’s just one case report.

And other experts are skeptical.

dr. Steven Horwitz, a cancer doctor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, said he has not seen any connection between vaccination and cancer relapse or progression in his patients.

And he noted that cancer patients are particularly vulnerable to Covid and that injections are the best way to reduce the risk.

Dr Goldman himself noted that it would be “premature” to extrapolate his case to other patients with the same cancer. And he said people still need to get vaccinated.

However, the immunologist doubts whether he will get his fourth.

Some antivaxxers have raised Dr. Goldman took the opportunity to claim that the jabs are a ‘toxic bioweapon’.

Pfizer and Moderna said they take reports of side effects very seriously, but no link has been established between the vaccine and cancer so far.

There have even been cases of cancer patients seeing their tumor shrink after getting the Covid vaccine – although this could also be a coincidence.

dr. Goldman said if the spread of his cancer was a side effect of the Covid vaccine, “it must be very rare” and getting a shot was “the right thing to do.”
