Hayden Panettiere Returns To Scream Franchise After Surviving The Fourth Part Of The Horror Series

Hayden Panettiere will reprise her role of Kirby Reed from Scream 4 in the next installment of the horror franchise.

The 32-year-old actress will rejoin the slasher series that rebooted in January, according to a Wednesday article by The Hollywood Reporter

Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures have revived the franchise with a fifth installment titled Scream, which was also the name of the original 1996 film.

The fifth installment made more than $81 million domestically and $140 million worldwide.

It was recently announced that Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega from the reboot will return for the next installment after surviving their encounter with killer Ghostface.

Hayden in Scream 4 played teenage Kirby who was injured but survived after Ghostface terrorized fictional Woodsboro, California again.

Plot details for the next episode were not revealed, but the producers said in a statement that the story “continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface murders as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a new chapter.”

Hayden rose to fame playing cheerleader Claire Bennet on the NBC superhero series Heroes, which aired from September 2006 to February 2010.

She also starred on the musical soap opera Nashville which aired on ABC and CMT from October 2012 to July 2018.

The new Scream film will be Hayden’s first big-screen feature in eight years.

Hayden has a seven-year-old daughter Kaya with ex-partner Wladimir Klitschko, 46.

She has been in a relationship with 32-year-old Brian Hickerson, who is on probation until 2025 for the home abuse of her in 2018.

He was arrested in 2020 under investigation into multiple charges, including bodily harm to a spouse/cohabitant, two charges of assault with a deadly weapon and one of intimidating Hayden.

Brian was arrested on Valentine’s Day 2020 in Wyoming and charged with domestic violence after allegedly hitting the actress “with a closed fist on the right side of her face.”

Wladimir has custody of Kaya after Hayden had an uphill battle with postpartum depression and alcohol abuse.

Kaya and Wladimir then moved to Ukraine, but the girl has been expelled from the country since the Russian invasion.

The shooting of the new Scream movie will start this summer with a planned release date of March 31, 2023.
