  • Not all ports with the HDMI 2.2 label must support the full specification

It is official: The HDMI 2.2 -Specification has been published, and that means that manufacturers can build it in their products. You will not immediately see it – there is a fair delay between a new specification and the right hardware that makes the production – but it promises some major improvements and some small annoyances.

First the good news: provided that you have an Ultra96 cable, you can take advantage of the bandwidth of 96 Gbps compared to the 48 Gbps of HDMI 2.1B.
