The 26-year-old Heartbreak High star, who is best known for her role as Amerie Wadia in the Netflix comedy, revealed that she only admitted to being bisexual “three years ago.”

“I’ve actually never spoken about my sexuality before, so this is quite new. I only came out and said I’m bisexual two or three years ago,” she told the publication.

‘It feels recent. It’s kind of interesting to see myself gravitating towards [girls]. My first kiss was with a girl.’

The singer went on to say that she was 11 and in acting class when she had her first kiss “with a girl called Louise,” who she “was completely in love with.”

Ayesha recalls her crush chewing gum when the actress pretended to “try the gum” as an excuse to share an “amazing” kiss with her.

Despite having different experiences with ‘liking’ other girls, Ayesha admitted that heteronormativity and competence [compulsory heterosexuality] difficult to understand her own feelings and sexuality.
