Hidden detail in Queen Mary and King Frederik’s final outing divides fans: ‘It’s so calculated’

Royal watchers have raved about Queen Mary and King Frederik of Denmark’s choice to ‘dress to match’ during their visit to the Baltic island of Ærø.

Many experts say the royal couple’s matching brown trousers, beige blazers and shirts symbolize their unity and bond, after a year of rumors of marital problems.

Others, however, argue that it is nothing more than a ‘clever trick’: a staged performance to make it look better than ever, while tensions behind closed doors are still high.

Historian and royal expert Sebastian Olden-Jørgensen said that when it comes to the current king and queen, “nothing is a coincidence.” Certainly not when it comes to their clothing choices.

“It shows that they act like a couple and are a couple,” he told Danish news BT, adding that it is an act of “togetherness”.

Historian and royal family expert Lars Hovbakke Sørensen agreed.

“It definitely fits very well with their brand, which is very much about presenting themselves as a couple – as a royal couple and not just the king being in the spotlight all the time,” he said.

Australian body language expert Dr Louise Mahler described the couple as ‘amazing’ for their ability to put themselves out there time and time again.

“It’s a miracle how they keep showing up, meeting and greeting the audience and portraying an everlasting love story,” she said.

She also praised them for their ‘costume’ changes.

“Their matching clothes are a work of art, created by their entourage, and they in turn provide the paint to complete a compelling story,” said Dr. Louise.

‘Sometimes, as in these photographs, there is no vibration between them, but at the same time there is no disconnection. Eyes may not meet eyes, but eyes do not always meet eyes.

“They are taking on the challenge together with professionalism and fun. For now, it seems like it’s business as usual for the Danish royal couple.”

The couple changed their wardrobe a few times during their visit to the island, with photos taken for their Instagram in one outfit showing the Queen wearing the same white collared shirt, but with a long tan skirt and matching hat.

The king wore a dark suit and tie.

In one of the photos, the couple appears to be looking into each other’s eyes, but if you look closer, you can see that the king is looking over his wife’s head.

The fans of the photos were torn.

“They’re totally comfortable with each other,” someone said.

“The first few photos look like they’re from 18s Romance,” said another.

But not everyone agreed.

“It would be even cuter if he even looked at her,” one woman said.
