‘Hindi should be made acceptable, not imposed’ – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said Hindi must be made acceptable, flexible and conversational and the need to promote this by all Indian regional languages and determining their mutual agreement.
Shah, while he was the official language‘s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the 4th Akhil Bharatiya Rajbhasha Sammelan coinciding with Hindi Diwas here, said Hindi and other local languages ​​should complement each other. “There can be no competition between Hindi and other Indian languages“…Hindi is the friend of all Indian languages…Hindi should not be promoted by struggle or violence but by universal acceptance,” he said.
The Minister of the Interior on Friday urged parents to speak to their children only in their mother tongue, saying only mothers can preserve Indian languages.
