HMD Fusion India launch teased; are available on Amazon
HMD Fusion was launched in September this year at IFA 2024. The smartphone is now teased to be launched in India. However, the company has not announced an exact launch date yet. The Indian variant of the device is expected to have similar features as the global version. Globally, the phone comes with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM, a 108-megapixel dual rear camera setup, interchangeable covers called Smart Outfits, and supports self-healing via an iFixit kit.
Launch of HMD Fusion India
A living Amazon microsite unveils a teaser for the next HMD handset in India. While the posters don’t reveal the moniker of the upcoming device, one of them carries the tagline ‘Experience Fusion’. This suggests that the model expected to be launched soon is the HMD Fusion and it will be available for purchase in the country through Amazon. The teaser images claim that the phone will allow users to customize designs and repair them themselves.
HMD Fusion Specifications, Features
The HMD Fusion has a 6.56-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixels) display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM. It supports up to 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 14 out of the box.
In the camera department, the HMD Fusion has a dual rear camera setup, including a 108-megapixel primary and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera includes a 50-megapixel selfie shooter. The phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast wired charging support. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an IP52-rated build for dust and splash resistance.
As with the HMD Skyline handset, which launched in India in September, users can repair certain elements of the HMD Fusion, including the battery, themselves by using the company’s iFixit kit. The HMD Fusion also supports interchangeable covers called Smart Outfits, which attach to the device via six pins. Some of these covers come with additional features, such as a camera light ring or extra protection.
