HMD has launched a Barbie flip phone that comes in a jewelry box
HMD Barbie Phone was unveiled in select global markets on Wednesday. The phone features a classic flip phone design and Barbie aesthetics. These include an all-pink casing alongside a pink battery and charger. The phone comes in a jewelry box, which contains the phone, beaded strings with charms and two additional back covers, as well as stickers and gems. The flip phone’s external display features a mirror. It also comes with a beach-themed Malibu Snake game.
HMD Barbie Phone Price, Availability
HMD Barbie phone is priced in the US for $129 (approximately Rs. 10,800). It will go on sale from October 1 and pre-orders for the same will open on the HMD US website on September 23. The phone comes in a single Power Pink color scheme. The battery and bundled USB Type-C charger also come in pink. The company has not yet confirmed if the phone will be launched in India.

The HMD Barbie Phone features a 2.8-inch QVGA main display and a 1.77-inch QQVGA cover display. The outer screen of the clamshell phone also acts as a mirror. The handset is powered by a Unisoc T107 SoC, paired with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 32GB externally via a MicroSD card. It comes with S30+ OS with a Barbie-themed UI.
The HMD Barbie Phone’s keypad comes in the iconic Barbie pink hue with hidden glow-in-the-dark palm trees, hearts and flamingo designs. Users are greeted with a “Hi Barbie” voice when they turn on the phone. It comes pre-installed with a beach-themed Malibu Snake game.
For optics, the HMD Barbie Phone features a 0.3-megapixel camera on the back alongside an LED flash. The handset is backed by a 1,450mAh removable battery that is claimed to offer up to nine hours of talk time. Connectivity options include 4G, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. When folded shut, the phone measures 108.4 x 55.1 x 18.9mm in size and weighs 123.5g.
