September: Ellie Aitken, a lawyer turned fashion designer, joins investment firm Pallas, a competitor to her husband’s firm, Aitken Investment Management
October: Mrs Aitken sent an enthusiastic birthday greeting to her friend Hollie Nasser, saying she was ‘so lucky to have you in my life.’
November: It is publicly announced that both Aitken and Nasser’s marriages have ended.
Mr Nasser, Mr Aitken’s business partner at Aitken Investment Management, is stepping down as a director and will be replaced by his brother Damien.
That same weekend, Ms. Aitken also steps down as an executive at the company.
A few days later, the police issued a warrant for the arrest of a public prosecutor against Mr. Nasser on behalf of his estranged wife.
Mr Aitken confirms that he is in a relationship with Ms Nasser.
“I can confirm that I am separated from Ellie Aitken and am in a relationship with Hollie Nasser,” Aitken said.
“I am only focusing on my children and will not comment further on this.”
December: Mr Nasser speaks out about the AVO and announces that he plans to fight the allegations when the case goes to court on December 15.
Mr Aitken is photographed shopping with Ms Nasser, delivering supplies to her home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Later that evening, Mrs Aitken posted photos of herself and Mr Aitken at their son’s rugby awards ceremony.
It is revealed that Mrs Nasser’s car has been vandalised, with someone scrawling the word ‘slut’ on one of the doors
Mrs Aitken leaks the heated messages between her and Mrs Nasser as their friendship deteriorates.
Mr. Aitken is later seen at the family’s home, where he gets into an argument with Ellie while picking up his clothes.
The Nassers are also spotted together with their children.
Ellie Aitken has announced she is ‘taking a break from social media’ as she deals with the fallout from her marriage split.
“The truth is that despite the support of friends and family, I was unable to cope with the deeply hurtful lies, gossip and innuendo that caused the rift in my relationship,” she said.
‘I have tried to keep a brave face and keep my feelings and well-being in check, despite the fact that I had no control over the reasons for my sadness.’
It has also emerged that Mr Nasser withdrew some $7.5 million from Mr Aitken’s company.
