Hollow Knight Silksong Trailers
The most recent trailer we’ve seen of Hollow Knight Silk Song released in late 2022 as part of the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase event. This trailer, which you can watch below, shows off gameplay and a look at the new protagonist and setting.
There have been a few more trailers released for Hollow Knight Silk Song over the past four years or so. We’ve included a few in this article, but to see them all, you can head over to the games official youtube channel.
Hollow Knight Silksong story and setting
Hollow Knight Silk Song takes place in the spooky kingdom of Pharloom. Visually, it’s a gilded, somber place, not unlike the deepest setting of the first game. Hornet starts at the bottom, where she’s taken after being captured. From there, she must climb ever higher, hunting down enemies and ultimately determining the fate of the world around her.
Just like in the first game, Silk singing seems to be delivering most of the story through NPC dialogue and lore found in the environment. There is certainly a story if you want it and it is there, but it may be a bit less attention-grabbing compared to other facets of the game. What we do know is that there will once again be a variety of bosses to defeat, friends to meet, and subtle choices to make as you play. There is still a lot to learn about the story in Silk singingbut we bet most of it will remain a secret until players get their hands on the game.
Hollow Knight Silksong gameplay
Players play as Hornet in Hollow Knight Silk Songwhich is quite a contrast to the Knight from the first game. She is much more agile, able to throw darts and wrestle through the world, with her needle weapon in hand. Again, players will be able to find new abilities as they progress, giving them options to customize Hornet.
So far we haven’t seen much gameplay for Silk singingbut what has been shown seems to be a continuation of the platforming/boss fighting of its predecessor. You explore different zones and slowly unlock the map. It is another Metroidvania game, which means that certain areas are locked behind ability upgrades, with a lot of backtracking. Boss fights seem to be a big part of Silk singingwith the gameplay trailer that came out last year, which showed off some of the main enemies we’ll be facing off against.
Overall, it seems like if you’ve played Hollow Knight you’ll feel right at home with the gameplay Silk singing. We’ll have to wait and see how many new bells and whistles are added this time around, but for now it’s feeling more like Hollow Knight – which is certainly no bad thing.
