Holly Willoughby and Susanna Reid offered their best wishes to I’m A Celebrity star Richard Madeley after he was taken to hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning.
ITV bosses confirmed on Thursday that the broadcaster had been taken away from Gwrych Castle in an ambulance as a precaution, after completing a grueling Kitchen Nightmares trial during Wednesday’s show.
Speaking on This Morning Thursday after the news broke, Holly told her This Morning co-star Phillip Schofield it would be “terrible” if Richard were forced to step off the show.

Returning from a commercial break, Holly told viewers: “Some news from I’m A Celebrity as Richard Madeely has been taken to hospital as a precaution.”
Phillip then read a statement from ITV which said: ‘Richard was unwell in the early hours and was seen immediately by our medical team on site.
“Since then he has been taken to hospital as a precaution, the health and safety of our camp mates is our priority.”

Susanna Reid, co-host of Richard’s Good Morning Britain, also wrote on Twitter: ‘Sending love – I hope he’s feeling well now. Doing a great job on #IACGMOOH and supporting everyone. Get well soon Richard.’
After news of Richard’s hospitalization came out, a spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: ‘We were called at 05:43 this morning, Thursday 25 November 2021, with reports of a medical emergency at Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Conwy.
“We sent an EMS with an emergency car and an ambulance to the scene and one patient was taken to hospital.”

A few hours earlier, Richard had earned just four stars in his first solo trial, Kitchen Nightmares, and confessed that the ordeal had left him “frozen.”
He had to use his mouth to try to untie some knots to retrieve stars hanging from a rope.
As the guts and offal fell on him, the host struggled to untie the string to the stars and said angrily, “Holy Moly,” before the horn sounded again, marking the end of the task.
