Josh Taylor’s Scotland Homecoming and Welterweight Welcome to Ekow Essuman ended in a disaster.
The 34-year-old Tartan Tornado had to jump up a weight and dominate the 36-year-old Nottingham Underdog.
But Ekow ‘The Engine’ put a brilliant show from Gruis and dedication to Win a unanimous decision.
The three rings jury members in Glasgow called it: 116-113, 116-112 and 115-113.
Essuman shone: “I have been the B-side and went to the way and went to the Leeuwenkuil.
“But I remembered a few things from when we spared a long time ago with Team GB and I could take them into action.
“I have just defeated a former undisputed world champion, so I want to be on the world stage now.
“I want to take the engine on tour to America for a world title shot now.”
Taylor, the former undisputed super light weight King of Scotland, ran away with the opener, the head of Essumans poked but then brutalizing his body.
Essuman enjoyed success in the second right hand, but his opponent always landed the more punishing strokes, especially on the hull.

Taylor sent another right hand as soon as the third started and did not succeed in giving back the session.
And the fourth was a screamer when Essuman was walked through a left hand and then Taylor was spread by a right.
A seventh round conflict cut Taylor around his left eye and gave Essuman a large red Bullseye to strive for.
And the scores and trust of Essuman grew as the fight progressed, while Taylor kept trying to land an amazing break and allowed his rival round.
The tenth was a brilliant round for the road hunter that Taylor had to give a warm and victoringly welcome at the 10th 7LB division.
Taylor did not stop bumping into the championship rounds when Essuman exposed him to the last call so much more energy and enthusiasm.
