‘Horrible!’ people shout at viral hack as beauticians warn not to try it in summer
A BEAUTY fan has revealed the results of a beauty trick that’s gone viral, but warns never to try it in the summer.
Evie tried and tested an exfoliating foot mask “for fun,” but was shocked when she saw what happened to her foot.
She went to her TikTok page @evie.xo777 to share her concerns in a video and even wrote in the caption, “Don’t watch this if you get sick easily.”
Foot peels are a form of chemical exfoliation and usually consist of a jelly-like mixture of ingredients that exfoliate the skin.
These ingredients include alpha hydroxy acid, glycolic acid and/or lactic acid.
Normally you apply the formula to the skin of your foot and then cover it with a sleeve so that all the ingredients can work properly.

This allows the acids to break the bonds that hold the skin cells together. For a few days after the treatment, bits of dead skin will flake off the foot.
But six days later, Evie admitted that her foot was still peeling and she was shocked by the amount of skin flaking off her foot.
The video showed Evie panicking when she saw the results of the treatment.
Since the video was shared, it has gone viral with over 2,500 people sharing their thoughts in the comments.
One beauty fan suggested: “Salt scrubs are great after a peel mask. They gently exfoliate without tearing the skin.”
However, further down in the comments section, Evie indicated that she had tried that, but “it didn’t work as well as you would think.”
Another person suggested that it wasn’t the right season to undergo these types of beauty treatments, writing: “Girl, these are winter activities.”
Someone else also shared their experience by writing, “I did this and went to the beach and had a skin bag full of sand.”
Another beauty fanatic who also tried and tested the viral trick added: “The worst thing I ever did in my life was having a foot peel in the summer.
“My skin flaked for 67 workdays.”
Another commenter added: “Girl I did the same thing a month ago and it kept peeling for 3 weeks I was embarrassed.”
Others felt sick after watching the video and said it caused them to stop eating.
While others enjoyed peeling their skin.
One of them said, “It’s so much fun to pull it off.”
