Horror outside Australian shopping mall as bus driver is stabbed by young man

Emergency services rushed to the scene to assist a bus driver who was stabbed by a young man outside a busy shopping centre.

The incident happened shortly before 1pm in Robina Town Centre, southwest of Surfers Paradise in Queensland.

Shortly after the 60-year-old driver was treated for a stab wound to his hip, which was not life-threatening, emergency services arrived on the scene.

He has since been transferred to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Initial witness statements indicate that the young man fled shortly afterwards.

Queensland Police have confirmed that a crime scene has been established and an investigation into the attack has begun.
