The bodies of two women were recovered after they were swept to the sea.
An extensive search was launched on Tuesday morning after two women, 65 and 67 years old, were missing near Back Beach On South AustraliaEyre Peninsula.
Their bodies were later pulled out of the water.
It is understood that the couple was fishing when at least one of them was caught in a bigining.
Emergency services were called on site around 11.15 am with the police assisted by Sapol’s Water Operations Unit and the SES.
A surfer tried to save the women and pulled one of them out of the water of the water unable to breathe new life into her life.
The body of the second woman was later discovered.
The women still have to be formally identified, but it is understood that the 67-year-old from Sturt and the 65-year-old was a streaky bay locally.

Back Beach is a popular surf spot and is not recommended for swimmers due to strong cracks.
The newest tragedy comes four months after surfer Lance Appleby, 28, was turned to death by a shark in nearby Streaky Bay.
“It is again a tragic blow to our community of Streaky Bay and my condolences go to the family and friends in this very difficult time,” said Streaky Bay Burgemeester Travis Barber.
‘My thoughts and thanks also go to the volunteers and first responderers who have had to deal with another tragic incident that would be very close to home for many, such as when you live in a small knit community.
“We will gather around them and come together again.”
