‘How did I spend so much?’ Chloe Ferry surprised by the cost of the B&M purchase
IT is a store known for its low prices and bargains.
But Chloe Ferry was stunned by the cost of her B&M shopping when she and her mum headed to the local supermarket to stock up on supplies for the Geordie Shore star’s new home.
Chloe, 28, went to TikTok To document the shopping, she started with, “I’m moving next week, so we’re going to be getting a bunch of new cleaning products ready for the new house.”
She started with toilet paper because she compared the price of Andrex toilet paper with a cheaper alternative.
“Can you believe there’s such a big price difference?” Chloe asked, surprised.
“£7.49 and £2.49, I’m going to get the f**king cheapest one, me!”

Then she spotted some matte black velvet hangers, which she thought “would look perfect in my new dressing room.”
“So I grabbed them all out of the closet!” she confessed.
“Sorry B&M, but I need some more!”
Chloe then added some bin bags, Pink Stuff stain remover, Fairy washing up liquid, washing machine and dishwasher tablets and Dettol spray and wipes to the shopping trolley.
“Mom wanted these rubber gloves,” Chloe said.
“Guys, do you use rubber gloves when you clean, or do you just clean with your bare hands?
“Because I’m more of a bare hands kind of girl!”
She couldn’t resist trying out a few air fresheners, although she admitted that doing so makes her feel like “a huge fraud.”
“You have to try before you buy, but some of the scents are just disgusting,” she said.
“And that went in my fucking mouth, so I didn’t take that!” she laughed.
She purchased a number of electric scent diffusers for her dressing room and bedroom, before stocking up her cleaning supplies with window cleaner, bleach and Vac N’ Fresh.
Chloe then added some plastic organizers to her cart and explained, “I want to be more organized in this house.”
How to save money at B&M
Customers are saving hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M’s scanner app.
The scanner allows you to see if the price of an item is lower than what is stated on the label in the store.
Products that are usually on sale are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to sell.
The app can be downloaded for free via the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
According to a former B&M manager, the best time to visit your local branch is on a Wednesday at 10am.
Here’s how to participate in the B&M bargain hunt:
- Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
- Once you install the app on your device, click on the ‘More’ option at the bottom right of the app’s homepage.
- You will then find an option that says “barcode scanner”. Click on this and it will open a camera screen.
- Move the camera over the barcode of the product you want to check.
- If the price is lower, you can take it to the checkout and it will be automatically scanned at the lower price.
- You do not need to log into the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.
She finished off her shopping trip with a matching cloche and a pair of matte nude mugs.
But when she got to the checkout, she couldn’t believe how much she’d spent: £116.96.
“How could I have spent £120 on cleaning products?” she shouted angrily.
“Well, at least I have those beautiful cups!”
“Cleaning products are expensive these days,” Chloe added in the video caption.
At the top of the clip she wrote: “How did I spend so much money at B&M?!”
“An obsession with cleaning products is so expensive,” someone admitted in the comments.
“B&M is deadly! It’s like a black hole,” added another.
A third told Chloe: “Go to Home Bargains”.
“32 toilet rolls for just £8.99!” they wrote.
