When MicrosoftOfficial Windows 10 End of Life Is getting closer and closer (October 14, 2025 for those of you who don’t know yet!), All those left behind must quickly migrate to Windows 11.
Well, we say Achterste -Lagers -but our exclusive statistics show that more than half (53%) of Windows users still use the older software, making them the risk of cyber attacks and other problems when support ends.
Our future research among 1,027 users showed that only 43% say they have made the upgrade – so what causes the delay?
Optimistic prospects
Well, simply put – our research discovered that it could be partial because many users just don’t know that they have to upgrade.
The majority of people (55%) know ‘exactly which version’ they are, but that leaves 23% behind those ‘fairly certain’, 10% that ‘a well -trained gamble could make’, and another 12% that is not at all certain.
(We are also pretty sure that our audience at Techradar Pro is clearly quite technically skilled, so the real percentage of those who are not certain is probably much higher …)
Most respondents (61%) said they have two devices or more in their home, and 53% say that all their PCs/laptops meet the requirements for Windows 11 Upgrades – 28% of the respondents who fail in a certain capacity.
However, the survey has found a little uncertainty, with 14% the Windows 11 system requirements do not know and another 4% does not know their equipment system requirements. This is where optimism enters.
For those who don’t know, the RAM requirement for Windows 11 is 4 GB – and a little more than half (53%) of those who were asked not sure how much RAM their device has, but 40% said they knew for sure – although that is not entirely the whole picture.
We asked that 40% how much RAM they have, and about 1 in 4 respondents gave us an unthinkable answer – either much too high or much too low.
Most were ridiculously optimistic, such as 1 TB, which would even be jealous of industrial setups, so it is really not clear how much of us are or can upgrade.
While Windows 11 -Adoption can finally be on the riseThere are still many users to make the change. However, Microsoft still urges users to update, because the company has pushed endless AI functions in desktops and laptops all over the world to try to seduce users to switch.
