How Molly Mae and Tommy Fury Could Divide Their Millions, According to Top Lawyer
A leading divorce attorney has shared her thoughts on what could happen to Molly Mae and Tommy Fury’s assets during the divorce.
The couple split in early August after Tommy Fury allegedly cheated on Molly-Mae, the mother of his child Bambi, a charge he denies.
The couple were engaged, but Tracey Maloney, 54, says Molly-Mae is unlikely to be expected to return the £1million sparkler Tommy proposed to her with.
According to Tracey, the family’s attorney, the ring is typically seen as a “gift” when a proposal is accepted, rather than simply given on the condition that they get married.
Tracey stresses that this means Molly can do whatever she wants with the £1million ring, unless Tommy can prove that he only gave the ring to her on those terms.
The split was heartbreaking for Molly Mae, sources told The Sun, but she hasn’t let it get in the way of her new business venture, her own clothing brand called Maebe.
She also explained possible scenarios of how they might arrange care for their daughter Bambi if they cannot reach an agreement.
Tracey suggested taking into account Bambi’s current daily routine and his parents’ schedules, including the fact that Tommy is abroad for boxing.
She therefore believes that if it comes to a lawsuit, Molly-Mae has a better chance of getting custody of her little one.
Tracey, who has worked as a family lawyer for 25 years, is from Chippenham, Wiltshire and says: “I’m sure the cost of the engagement ring is going through the roof. It’s a huge asset.
“Is she expected to give it back? No, he didn’t give it to her on the condition that she would marry him.
“Legally, Molly doesn’t have to give it back, but morally, she might.
“If Tommy were to fight Bambi for custody, he would lose from my legal point of view.
“The constant in Bambi’s life is Molly, as he is often abroad boxing.
“Tommy comes from a family with traditional values, so his family might tell him that if he’s the one who made the mistake, he should do the right thing for Molly.”
While there are reports that Molly is the sole owner of their £4million Cheshire mansion, it is unclear who owns what assets.
Timeline of Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury’s breakup
After five years together, Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury split in August 2024.
Around 4:00 PM on Wednesday, August 14, Molly-Mae and Tommy have an explosive confrontation and Molly-Mae announces her split from her fiancé Tommy Fury. She says: ‘I never thought our story would end like this, especially not in this way.’
An hour later, Tommy confirms in a short, separate statement that they have broken up and thanks Molly-Mae for making him a ‘father’.
The real reason why they broke up comes out and Thursday August 15th The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae discovered Tommy had cheated on her, leading to an explosive confrontation.
On Saturday, August 17, The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae received a shocking video of Tommy kissing a girl in a nightclub in North Macedonia during a lads’ holiday.
Exactly one week after the split, a Danish woman accused of being close to Tommy speaks to The Sun. On Wednesday, August 21, she denies that she is the girl who kissed Tommy.
If Molly owns the home, Tracey says there could still be issues if Tommy contributes to the monthly mortgage payments.
She said, “If he were to pay every month, he could argue that he is reducing the debt on the house, so a percentage of it is his.
“If that’s the case, Molly could be in for quite a fight.”
Tracey said the couple may have already drawn up contracts before merging their finances, as they are not married.
But she finds that unlikely, because they became rich while they were together, and not before.
She said: “It’s much easier to work things out contractually when you’re still in love than when you’re emotionally broken.
“But if you are going to accumulate assets together, you don’t think about a contract or some kind of prenuptial agreement.
“I’d put my money on them not having a contract at all.
“They must have a lot of designer stuff. I wonder if there’s going to be a fight over who gets what.”
Tracey said that if there is no prior contract and they cannot amicably agree who gets which of their joint assets, they will have to prove who owns what. court.
But she doesn’t expect it to come to that, as she is confident the couple will find a way to reach a decision outside of court.
She said: “Emotions are running high and I’m sure Molly is upset that her house has been blown up.
“But from what I saw in an interview with Molly-Mae, she carries herself with such dignity.
“So I think she will approach it in a pragmatic way: the more they can agree out of court, the cheaper it will be legally.
“And that’s a good thing, because they still have to work together to raise their child.
“Because Bambi is so young, you hope it doesn’t turn into a big legal battle.
“But you never know. Look at Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, that was a circus.”
