How to Claim Your Share of Cash App’s $15 Million Legal Settlement
Cash App is one of the most popular payment services in the world, with over 50 million users. The service has even expanded to free tax preparation and high-yield savings accounts. However, Cash App is facing a large legal settlement over unauthorized data breaches, and affected customers could be seeking up to $2,500 if the settlement is approved.
The class-action lawsuit alleges that Cash App and its parent company Block were negligent when a former Cash App Investing employee gained access to unauthorized account information in 2022 and when another user gained access to certain Cash App accounts in 2023 using reused phone numbers associated with the accounts.
If you have used Cash App in the past six years and have experienced an unauthorized money transfer, or if your personal Cash App information or account has been accessed without your consent, you may be eligible to file a claim.
Here’s what you need to know about the Cash App settlement, including how to file a claim and what we know about expected payout dates. For more information, here’s how to protect your Cash App personal and financial information and everything we know about the National Public Data Breach.
