HP is giving your printer an AI upgrade that could solve some of your biggest printing problems
HP has unveiled plans to put an end to some of the most common printing problems with the launch of a new AI-powered service.
HP Print AI is designed to “change the way the world prints” and aims to make printing less tedious by addressing annoying or cumbersome challenges for both home users and office workers.
The launch also means your printer will produce consistent, high-quality prints, and a new collaboration tool will increase productivity for teams in different locations.

The first AI-driven feature introduced in the somewhat conceited “Perfect Output” printer, HP says, makes printing from sources like web browsers and spreadsheets smoother.
When printing items such as news articles, recipes and manuals via a browser, you often end up with unnecessary white space and issues with image size or ads. Perfect Output tries to solve this by detecting ‘unwanted content’ such as ads and web text and only printing what you need. This not only saves time, but also ink and paper.
The tool also looks to make printing spreadsheets less cumbersome by providing a printable selection that doesn’t split tables or charts across pages.
Elsewhere, the platform will look to offer more collaboration for businesses that scan a lot of documents to capture customer data. The new HP Scan AI Enhanced tool can identify the type of document being scanned and extract the information you want based on your specific business needs, saving smaller businesses in particular the time and money they spend on manual data-uploading tasks.
“We’re transforming the printing experience with HP Print AI, making it simpler and more intuitive,” said Tuan Tran, HP President of Imaging, Printing, and Solutions. “Introducing AI solutions across our portfolio simplifies printing, unlocks creativity, and accelerates collaboration, all while ensuring customer data is protected and private. This is our first step in setting a new standard for printing.”
HP Print AI is available today, and the company said it plans to launch more capabilities throughout 2025.
