Huawei Mate XT could come in a red color scheme, teaser video suggests
Huawei Mate XT is scheduled to launch on September 10 in China. It is the first-ever tri-foldable smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer and will join the Mate series of devices. The rear design of the smartphone has now surfaced in a new teaser video shared by the company, which features actor Andy Lau in the lead role. The development comes after hands-on images of the device surfaced on social media platform, revealing its side profile.

In a preview In a video posted on Chinese social media platform Weibo, Huawei has revealed the rear design of the Mate XT in the hands of its brand ambassador Andy Lau. It is teased in a red color scheme with “Huawei Ultimate Design” branding on the rear panel. The smartphone’s camera module appears to sport an octagonal shape, featuring a quad-camera setup along with a vertical pill-shaped LED flash.
The Huawei Mate XT has been spotted with a larger internal display in three foldable sections, confirming leaks. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, said of the smartphone that it is the culmination of five years of “perseverance and investment”, making “science fiction a reality”.

According to a report, the Huawei Mate XT could come with a 10-inch inner display – two inner displays and one outer display, connected by a dual hinge system. There also seems to be a hole for the front-facing camera on the leftmost display. The handset could be powered by a Kirin 9-series chipset, which is also rumored to power the Huawei Mate 70 series. The handset is also speculated to come with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
The Huawei Mate XT will launch in China on September 10, alongside other expected announcements such as the Luxeed R7 and a new smart car model.
