Huawei Tri-Fold phone could cost twice as much as Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
Huawei is expected to develop a triple-screen smartphone and a prototype of the alleged device was recently spotted in the hands of a top executive from the company. While there is no timeline regarding the launch or information on what it could offer, a claim on social media has suggested that it will come with an exorbitant price tag. As per the claims, the development prototype of the handset will cost around $4,900 (roughly Rs. 4,11,000) and the Chinese firm is said to be looking for ways to bring the price down.
Huawei Tri-Fold Smartphone Price (Expected)
The information comes from a after on X (formerly Twitter) by user @jasonwill101 who suggested that while Huawei’s prototype triple-screen smartphone carries an exorbitant price tag, the production model may not be much cheaper in comparison. The mass-market phone is speculated to be priced at CNY 29,000 or around $4,000 (roughly Rs. 3,35,000).

If this pricing turns out to be true, it would make the triple-folding smartphone the most expensive mass-market phone. It could cost more than twice as much as other foldable smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. Despite this high price, it may not offer the internals to support it.
The alleged smartphone is said to be powered by a Kirin 9-series chipset, with the Kirin 9010 being touted as one of the likely options. The processor is also said to power the upcoming Huawei Mate 70 series. It is said to not be as powerful as other flagship chipsets in the market such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or MediaTek Dimensity 9300.
Huawei Tri-Fold Smartphone Rumors
Huawei’s alleged smartphone is said to feature a 10-inch internal display that can be folded three times thanks to a dual-hinge system, which would feature three separate screen sections. While one of the displays can fold inwards, the other can fold outwards.
The smartphone was recently spotted in the hands of Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu, sparking rumors about its imminent launch. It appears to feature a hole for the front-facing camera on the leftmost display. Despite being a triple-folding smartphone, it could reportedly have an “average” thickness.
