It is expected to be the world’s first tri-fold phone and the leak suggests that it could eventually replace current foldable smartphones and even compete with popular tablets like the iPad.
According to the leak, the Huawei triple-folding handset will not be mass-produced. It will likely be expensive and supplies are limited. The company is likely to demonstrate a technological advancement with the product, the tipster said.
As production of the device increases and the technology continues to develop, the price of future generations of tri-fold phones can be expected to drop, the Weibo post said.

A previous leak suggested that Huawei’s tri-fold phone could feature a 10-inch display. The phone is expected to come with a dual-hinge system, which would offer three separate screen areas. One of the rumored hinges would reportedly fold inwards on both sides, while the other would fold outwards. Huawei’s tri-fold smartphone is also said to come with improved crease control.
The company’s latest foldable smartphone was the Huawei Pocket 2 clamshell foldable smartphone, which was unveiled in China in February. It features a 6.94-inch LTPO OLED main display and a 1.15-inch OLED cover display, alongside a 50-megapixel quad-camera setup on the back and a Kirin 9000s SoC.
