Hugh Grant still chased by Sordid Brush with the law 30 years ago, because the incident of ‘Lewd’ pops up among young fans

Hugh Grant Is known for some of its iconic roles in classical romcoms such as Notting Hill and four weddings and a funeral (and his cameo in the horror film Heretic).

But thanks to a recently re -upright news article, many younger fans just learn about a brush with the law he had 30 years ago.

A Reddit User recently shared a photo of the front page of the Sun -newspaper on 28 June 1995 with the head, ‘Hugh and His Hooker’.

Exactly while he was aware of his emerging star row thanks to four weddings and a funeral, Grant was arrested for having sex in his car with Divine Brown who happened to be a sex worker.

Grant was caught on sunset strip in Los AngelesWhere he had met Brown (whose legal name Estella Marie Thompson is) and $ 60 paid to have oral sex performed on him.

At the time, he was confronted with the possibility of six months in prison for ‘lusty behavior’ in a public place.

Instead, he got away with paying a fine of $ 1,000 (which in today’s conditions would be just over $ 2,000) and attending an AIDS education program.

Brown, on the other hand, was sentenced to 180 days in prison because she had violated her conditional release for earlier prostitution.

After he had taken the headlines, Grant – who was then linked to girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley in the long term – published a statement on the day after he was arrested.

“Last night I did something completely insane,” he said.

‘I hurt people from whom I love and embarrassment of people I work with.

“For both things I have more regret than I can ever say.”

But even 30 years later, some Hurley fans cannot believe that Grant was unfaithful to her.

“He went out with Elizabeth Hurley … Some people are never satisfied with what they have,” said a user.

“How could you do that with Elizabeth Hurley,” wrote another followed by a sad face.

Other redditors seemed to be more concerned with the disproportionate sentences he and Brown received.

Other Reddit users expressed their anger about the disproportionate penalties that Grant and Brown received for the law

“The double standard in that conviction is insane,” said a redditor.

“The f ** k, I never knew she spent time in prison for this,” said another.

“I should not be surprised, I think how unfair she was treated.”
