Humiliation for Zoe Daniel as Tim Wilson makes history to reclaim the seat of Goldstein – after the blue -green independent celebrated victory with a dance party

Tim Wilson will be restored as a federal member of parliament after a historical victory against the woman who has explained the victory against him on the election evening with a dance party.
He has recovered the seat of Goldstein by a slender 128 votes about independent green -blue Zoe Daniel, the woman who drove him out of the inner southeastern one three years ago.
At the start of the last count today, Wilson led with 176 votes with 117 votes to be counted.

Wilson thanked his team on Tuesday evening in a WhatsApp message after his ‘unprecedented’ victory.
“Together we have just broken three Australian political reports,” he wrote.

Daniel does not have to admit any defeat yet.
“The next step is the complete distribution of preferences,” she posted on Facebook on Tuesday evening.
‘It seems wise to continue the AEC with the job. Any consideration of a recount will then take place.
“Thanks again to my great scrutineers.”
The AEC does not have to make a recount because more than 100 voices Wilson and Daniel separated.
However, candidates can apply for a recovery if the difference in voting is above that threshold.

The complete distribution of preferences is expected to be completed on Thursday.
It comes after Daniel had sustained the admiration of her admiring supporters when she declared the victory on the election evening fourteen days ago.

When she arrived there, she threw both hands in the air and explained that ‘Hope wins’.
“I am bulletproof, nothing to lose,” the texts sounded when Daniel danced like a possessed woman.
She thanked her supporters and added: “What we have achieved here is extraordinary.”
But within a few hours, as the number of votes continued, it became clear that Daniel’s chair was still on a knife edge.
Two days later, even after she had fallen her victory claims, Daniel was still in the dancing mood.
The green -blue parliament member shared a video of her completely feminine office that danced wild on Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club.
“It is a resilience test that is certain,” she subtitled the video. “But whatever happens, we will continue to dance.”
Wilson claimed the victory on 7 May after various media Goldstein declared in his favor.
Later he considered bringing himself forward for liberal leadership before he then made a pronunciation.

Goldstein saw a late increase in support and the margin limited from more than 1400 to 128 before the AEC Wilson declared the winner.
Daniel, 52, is a former old ABC -Buitlandse correspondent who became a politician who campaigned about combating climate change and tackling integrity issues in politics.
She was chosen under a wave of so -called green -blue independent in 2022 and defeated Wilson 52.87 percent to 47.13 percent.
Wilson, 45, is a former assistant -minister in the government of Scott Morrison as a member of Goldstein from 2016 to 2022.
He successfully led the fight against the former broadcast of the former Labor leader Bill Shorten of tax benefits on Franking Credits for investors.
He is also in favor of marriage and presented to his partner on the floor of parliament in 2016 while declaring his support for marriage reforms of the same sex.
Wilson is a former human rights commissioner and had a higher position for the right -wing think tank, the Institute of Public Affairs.
