Hyundai Creta EV arrives in January 2025!
Hyundai is planning to launch the much-awaited electric variant of the Creta in India soon. There have been multiple spy shots and leaks that reveal the electric vehicle’s launch timeline. However, the company’s COO has finally revealed the car’s launch timeline. According to reports, the Hyundai Creta EV will be announced in early 2025.
According to multiple reports, Hyundai India Chief Operating Officer (COO) Tarun Garg has confirmed that the vehicle will be launched in January 2025. He revealed this information during a recent investor meeting. This could also mean that the brand will unveil the car at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, which will start from January 17. With that, let’s take a closer look at the leaked information about the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV:
Design and interior
According to several spy images, the electric SUV could share its key design elements with the petrol Creta facelift, which was unveiled earlier this year. The vehicle may retain the connected LED DRL setup and a similar headlight design. The vehicle can also be equipped with some EV-specific modifications, including an enclosed front grille and redesigned bumpers. The rear part of the car may have a light bar connecting the rear lights. The Creta EV is also said to come with 17-inch aerodynamic wheels.
Road test spy shots also showed a cabin layout that mirrored the current Creta. The EV variant could also feature dual 10.25-inch screens in an integrated setup. The car could also come with a new three-spoke steering wheel and a relocated drive selector switch behind it, which could be similar to the placement seen in the Ioniq 5.
Features and safety
The electric SUV is expected to come with dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats. On the safety front, the company could add six airbags as standard, along with electronic stability control and a 360-degree camera system. The car could also feature Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control.
Powertrain details
While specific battery configuration details are not being made public by Hyundai, the electric SUV is expected to offer multiple battery options with one engine setup. The range is expected to be more than 400 kilometers on a single battery charge.
With an expected starting price of Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom), the Creta EV will compete with the MG ZS EV, the upcoming Tata Curvv EV and Maruti eVX, while offering an alternative to the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 in the electric SUV segment.
