Despite being almost 60, Leslie Kenny has the biological age of a youthful 21-year-old, according to a scientific test.
After a health crisis at age 39, during which she was told she might only have “five good years” of health left, Leslie decided to take a closer look at her health and turn back the clock.
She has now spent two decades discovering the secrets of youthful living and putting her three autoimmune diseases – lupus, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and Hashimoto’s – into remission.
While it may be a bit complicated to look 21 years old, Leslie looks younger than her years.
And thankfully, she’s revealed her essentials for defying the signs of aging without using Botox.
FACE TAPPING
Leslie said face taping is a “fantastic” alternative to Botox.
She uses Japanese Face Tape from The Natural Faces, made of ‘soft’ material.
“It involves using special tape to prevent facial movement during sleep to prevent new wrinkles from forming,” she said.
While these can cost you £21 for a return, Temu does a £4 version to save you some pennies.
AVOID INFLAMMARY FOODS
When she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, she immediately took an allergy test that revealed she was sensitive to gluten and dairy.
She immediately cut them out, along with sugar and alcohol.
Leslie also avoids carbohydrates, aside from sweet potatoes and “white basmati rice that has been cooked and cooled and then drizzled with coconut oil.”

TAKE SUPPLEMENTS
Kenny said there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to health, but people should start investigating the cause of premature aging.
“Gray hair is often a good visible indicator of what’s going on inside, and the cause can be different for everyone,” she says.
“Despite common misconceptions, gray hair is not a given.”
She said nutritional deficiencies such as vitamin D, B12, iron or spermidine are among the causes.
Alternatively, thyroid problems such as hypothyroidism or stress-related glutathione depletion may occur.
“We need to identify the cause with a detailed blood test before we can fix the problem,” she said.
“I am 59 and have no gray hair because I have been able to balance my nutritional profile and manage my thyroid problems.”
PACKS IN COLLAGEN
Leslie often eats “collagen-rich foods,” like bone broth, and takes supplements like Davinia Taylor’s Will Powder, which is made from grass-fed Swedish beef.
She also takes four tablespoons of collagen daily.
The dosage of collagen to take varies for each person depending on their age and needs.
“While I’m sure you’ve heard of collagen, you may not know about spermidine,” she said.
FIXED REGULARLY
Leslie fasts for about 18 hours most days, drinking coffee with antioxidant-rich raw cacao and coconut milk for breakfast, lunch at 1 p.m., and dinner at 7 p.m.
She eats mainly plant-based meals, but also consumes oily fish, eggs and small portions of ‘high quality’ meat.

However, it is not recommended for people with high blood pressure, and it will prevent you from straining your wrists or elbows.

SLEEP BEFORE MIDNIGHT
Leslie makes sure she gets an hour or two of sleep before midnight to maximize its restorative benefits, and aims to get a total of seven hours per night.
Experts say the hours between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. are crucial for non-REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, when the body repairs tissue and strengthens the immune system.
Leslie said: “To reduce inflammation [age-related increases in levels of inflammatory markers] it is essential to ensure you get a good night’s sleep.”
