I am a biochemist and I like budget brand because of the youth promoting formulas
A BIOCHEMIST is certain that her skincare products are scientifically proven. And if you really know about it, you can also get a bargain.
In an interview with The US Sun, Valerie Aparovich raved about several skin care products, including a $12 anti-aging serum that visibly reduces wrinkles.
Aparovich is a certified cosmetologist-esthetician at On the skinan artificial intelligence (AI) based and scientifically proven beauty app.
She admitted that she has dry skin and shared what products she uses to revitalize and hydrate her skin.
And just because she has access to expensive products doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to spot a bargain.
“If you’re looking for an anti-aging product that’s affordable, The Ordinary is a great brand to consider,” says Aparovich.
She should know, because she has over seven years of experience in skin care cosmetics and non-toxic beauty.
“They offer special formulas that boost youthfulness, based on the most popular and effective skin care ingredients.”
These include retinoids, vitamin C and peptides.
RETINOL
The Ordinary’s Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion Serum, $12.10, is one of her favorites from the brand.
“Retinoids are derivatives of vitamin A that accelerate cell renewal and promote skin renewal,” Aparovich explains.
There are several benefits associated with incorporating this beneficial ingredient into your diet.
“They support the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers, improve skin texture and firmness, provide a smoother skin surface and reduce fine lines and wrinkles,” she added.
PEPTIDES
She also recommended The Ordinary’s fast-selling and popular Multi-Peptide + Hyaluronic Acid or “Buffet” Serum, priced at $19.90.
“Cosmetic peptides mimic the function of natural peptides and serve as building blocks for collagen proteins in our skin,” she says.
According to the product description on the website, it’s packed with hydrating agents that increase skin’s “thickness, firmness and elasticity” and soften fine lines and wrinkles.
The peptides in these cells “promote repair and regeneration mechanisms in the cells and act as moisturizers.”
According to Aparovich, this helps “protect the skin and retain moisture.”
VITAMIN C
Finally, Aparovich added vitamin C to every beauty routine.
“Vitamin C is a fortifying antioxidant that helps protect cells from free radical damage caused by environmental stressors and linked to accelerated aging,” she explains.
The Ordinary’s Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone, $8.30, gives you a lot of bang for your buck.
The vitamin in the product “stimulates collagen synthesis” and promotes skin firmness and elasticity.
The serum brightens and evens out the complexion and helps lighten hyperpigmentation spots that often appear as we age.
With prolonged use, a “smoother surface” is created.
SKINCARE MUST
Aparovich follows a very specific and nutritious regimen for her dry skin.
She uses a mild, sulfate-free cleanser such as Novexpert’s Flash Radiance Cleansing Foamwhich is normally around $20.
She explained that it helps to “gently remove impurities from the skin without stripping away its natural oils, compromising its moisture barrier, or causing irritation and tightness.”
Then she uses a hydrating toner ‘based on probiotics, such as Bifida Toner from Mixsoon$25, a “minimalist formula” based on Bifida Ferment extract to support a “healthy skin microbiome.”
She added that it strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier, “providing ample hydration and leaving your skin feeling softened, soothed and refreshed.”
Finally, she finishes it off with a ceramide-rich moisturizer.
She prefers the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream, which is currently on sale for $43.50.
Ceramides are fat molecules with softening properties.
Aparovich explained that they “help strengthen the skin’s hydrolipidic barrier, prevent transepidermal water loss, and nourish, soften and smooth your canvas.”
