I am a celebrity couple but I love Vinted. My “full outfit” trick increases sales.
EVERYONE loves to clean up their house and make some money at the same time.
It is therefore not surprising that sites such as Vinted and DePop are becoming increasingly popular.
And it’s not just ordinary people who are taking part in this.
Celebrities and fashionistas also sell their wares on the second-hand platform, including Made in Chelsea star GeorgiaTofolo.
The winner of I’m a Celeb has teamed up with Vinted to tips to help people get a spot on the site.
The Vinted team says Georgia is one of their best sellers with a 100 percent five-star sales rating file.
And one of the best tips from the beautician on TV is to sell items that work together as a complete outfit.
Georgia, 29, who has been in a relationship with Scottish former Brewdog founder James Watt since last year, said: “If you’re selling a number of items that go really well together as an outfit, mention them in your description and direct people to your other items.
“This simple cross-selling tactic will increase the views of your other items and increase your chances of selling more items.
“Even better, if you’re taking photos of yourself wearing a top, you can pair it with a pair of pants you’re selling and get a photo where you’re completely covered.
“This way, buyers might want to buy the exact same outfit, not just the single item, since you’re already selling both.”
Georgia, who recently spoke about her Love for Scotland during a trip around the country with her 39-year-old tycoon boyfriend, also said it’s best to fashion model tidy up the stuff yourself, instead of taking a boring photo of it while it’s lying or hanging on the floor.
She said, “Clothing is meant to be worn, so if you feel comfortable with it, take additional photos or selfies of yourself wearing that clothing. You can always crop out your face and any identifying features.” functions in your At home.
“It really helps to show how the item sits on the body and gives the buyer a better idea of the ‘fit’ and sizing, and how it might look on him or her.
“Remember to take photos in good natural daylight, or use a ring light if you need some extra help.”
And while the photos are important, it’s also important that the text is good, says Georgia.
She said, “What you write in your description is just as important, so do your best.
“When making online purchases, people use words and filters to search.
Always provide more information about the condition of the garment. If there is any damage (no matter how small), also include the dimensions and sizes (as you can’t always see that in a photo). It is also useful to mention your size/length and whether the size is large, small or just right.
“And if your item fits a certain fashion trend or style, be sure to mention that, for example Y2K, boyfriend jeans, quiet luxury.”
Do I have to pay tax on items I sell on Vinted?
FAST tax facts from the Vinted team…
- The only time an item is taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is a profit (sells for more than you paid for it). Even then you can use your £3,000 tax-free capital gains allowance to offset it.
- Generally, only business sellers who trade for profit (buying goods with the intention of selling them for more than they paid for them) are required to pay tax. Business sellers who trade for profit can take advantage of a £1,000 tax-free allowance, which has been in place since 2017.
